ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Joey!
I started Chachan Academy with a simple idea: students shouldn't have to figure everything out on their own.
As a student, I've experienced both the challenges and rewards that come with demanding academics. I graduated as the 2022 Valedictorian of Mustang High School and went on to earn my degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, graduating with distinction as Summa Cum Laude and Honors.
Throughout my education, I've taken rigorous coursework spanning mathematics, science, engineering, and writing. My mathematics background includes Calculus I, II, III, and Differential Equations. My science coursework includes the full range of pre-medical sciences. These classes, paired with my engineering background, have also given me extensive experience applying these concepts to real-world problems and thinking through them step by step.
Yet, knowing the material is only part of being a good tutor. Knowing how to explain is just as important.
I've always enjoyed helping others work through difficult concepts and find an explanation that finally makes something click. My goal is to meet students where they are and help them move forward.
Why "Chachan"?
Chachan means older brother.
To me, an older brother is someone you can turn to when you're stuck. But it’s also a person who can share what they’ve learned and encourage you when things get difficult. This is the relationship I want to build with my students and what Chachan Academy is all about.
I'm not here just to give you the answer or help you get through your next assignment. I'm here to help you understand the material, build confidence, and develop better academic habits.
And for students interested in pursuing medicine or engineering, I can also offer guidance from personal experience on how to navigate rigorous prerequisite coursework and prepare for a pre-med and/or engineering path.
